SUPERTOON 2012 - SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY CALL FOR ENTRIES Dear friends of animation, Supertoon International Animation Festival is a specialized international competition festival for short animated films which will be held in Bol on the island of Brač, Croatia, from 30st July to 3th August 2012. You are kindly invited to submit your film produced after 1st January 2010 in one of the following categories: Short Animated Films Short-format, non-commissioned animated films or videos. Films for Children and Youth Animated works produced and distributed specifically for children and youth audiences. When a serial is the case, only one episode is eligible. Animated Music Videos Official music videos, commissioned animated videos made specifically to promote music pieces. We would like to inform you that submission deadline is 15th April 2011. FESTIVAL

ABOUT FESTIVAL SUPERTOON is an International Animation Festival taking place in Bol on the Croatian island of Brač. The purpose of the Festival is to systematically monitor and provide an insight into recent Croatian and world short-meter animation film and video production through a range of competition and out-of-competition programmes. Additional aim is to create a platform for a direct communication and exchange of ideas and experiences for all festival participants and guests.		Festival Competition programme is divided into three categories: Short Animated Film category presents recent World shorts completed in the last two years. Competition of Films for Children and Youth brings animated works aimed specifically at younger audience. Animated Music Video programme is envisaged as a sort of an animated music playlist. In addition to competition categories, Supertoon programme includes panoramas, retrospectives and theme screenings, exibitions, workshops and lectures.

The Festival may permit other Croatian or international organizations or institutions to present their own awards. Should they wish to do so, they must supply the Festival Organizers with their own award rules and regulations, prior to the opening of the Festival. The Festival Jury can award special mentions for exceptional artistic achievement.

GENERAL TERMS

Supertoon International Animation Festival is open for entries by directors, production companies and distributors to present their animated films in one of the three competition categories:

Short Animated Films
Short-format, non-commisioned animated films or videos.

Films for Children and Youth
Animated works produced and distributed specifically for children and youth audiences.

Animated Music Videos
Official music videos, commissioned nimated videos made specifically to promote music pieces.

When a serial is the case, only one episode is eligible. In addition to competition categories, Supertoon programme includes panoramas, retrospectives and theme screenings, exibitions, workshops and lectures. Animated works completed in 2010 or later are eligible to apply.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Technical specifications for submission the film:

Film file
• Accepted formats: .mp[e]g / .mov / .mp4
• Codecs for .mov / .mp4: h264, MPEG (bitrate if possible) > 8MBit/s
• Resolution: PAL 720x576/480/400px up to HD material of 1920x1080px
• Audio: 48kHz sound PCM (only uncompressed) / MP3 / AAC (if possible > 160 kBit/s)
• Please note that we only accept multiplexed files (audio and video in one file). We also
recommend to upload only progressive or deinterlaced footage. If you upload interlaced footage this will cause a bad quality of your processed file (festival preview).

You can upload up to three stills.

Recommended resolution: 300 dpi, 16x9cm
